Unknown gunmen assassinated a soldier of the 17th Infantry Brigade loyal to the legitimacy in Taiz city.
Local sources pointed out to Al-Sabah Al-Yemeni that the gunmen opened fire on the soldier, Bashir Naser Al-Ma’afree, at Al-Thorah hospital street middle of Taiz city. This is the fourth operation during two days in the city that witnessed security breaches; the city is experiencing a growing number of assassinations, looting and robbery amid total absence of local authority. In the meantime, unknown gunmen assassinated yesterday the officer Ahmed Al-Sharmani, who works within the leadership of 166 brigade when he was in Al-Zanqal market, before they looted his weapon and escaped.
Observers believe that assassinations among defense partners of Taiz have increased especially with the United Arab Emirates declaring its war against Islah militants and its absolute support for the Salafist militant groups with money and arms to ignite the conflict between the armed factions of the Islah Party, backed by Hadi and Saudi Arabia, and the UAE allies represented by the Salafist armed factions led by the Abu Abbas Brigades. Which, according to observers, warns of a long series of assassinations among leaders of the rival factions, to control the city and extend its influence on the other side.
